Cover Me In The Truth

Cover me in the truth of who you are so that I may not put my labels on who you are not. It is selfish to keep your truth to yourself.

Lie, deny and even hide in plain sight. Know I’ll see you anyway. Take away the pain, they say; show them they can’t tell you who you see. Cover me in the truth, and I will join you underneath the brokenness.

Shame in disguise is still shame. Fear on the surface shows through, and you do what the ego says and take flight. Cover me in the truth and stand still.

Freeze for a moment until the fog lifts. As it becomes more apparent, you will see what I see. Your sadness doesn’t become you, but let your worth and love define you. Cover me in the truth and stand still.

Take my mask and throw it away with yours. Brick by brick, the walls can come down. Let’s build a new fence of transparency so that we all can shine in unity. When you are ready I am ready. Cover me in the truth and stand still
